The Various Broadband Plans to Choose From
Seven broadband technologies exist under which ISPs offer various broadband plans.
Below you will find the classification of different internet and broadband Types:
1. Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)
ADSL broadband is one of the two most universally used broadband technologies, and it is the primary technology for enhancing existing 56K telephone lines. Most local traditional telephone providers offer internet via ADSL.
ADSL internet is internet that uses a coding pattern to change traditional telephone lines into high-speed digital lines through the compression of signals, which allows them to move at a much larger pace than dial up. The DSLAM permits the phone line to transmit voice and data at the same time. It permits data traffic at download speeds of up to 1,500,000 bits per second (1.5 Mbps).
2. ISDN refers to Integrated Service Digital Network
ISDN is an additional technology used to enhance existing 56K telephone wires. Like DSL and unlike ADSL internet, complex technologies supplement dial-up service in order to provide high-speed digital transmission of both voice and data on internet. An ISDN system combines voice data and digital data from the Web on the same network by making two channels over a single twisted pair telephone line. One channel moves data, voice and the telephone company to identify if the information carried over the web is data or voice uses the other.
3. Cable modem
Most of the technology that is used by broadband companies uses access to the web across the same wires that cable televison use to bring in cable to their consumers. The signal transfer occurs over coaxial cable, which is capable of carrying more data than telephone lines. Coaxial cable is highly used in communications and video in cable broadband. The cable broadband is highly popular among home users
4. T-Carriers
T-Carriers technology require the use of a dedicated digital communications line and special computer gear at both the customer’s site and the site of the provider. Features offered by T-carrier can be by local or long distance telephone providers or the ISP who also offer cable broadband.
5. MMDS/LMDS Terrestrial Wireless Service
Terrestrial wireless is a significant expertise that allows users to send and receive Internet signals using a land-based system similar to that used by cellular telephones. All editions of wireless service work on the same principal. Siganl transmission starts at a transmission tower and goes to an antenna on the customer’s home in fixed wireless networks. Multipoint Multichannel Distribution Sytem and Local Multipoint Distribution System (LMDS) are two technologies capable of providing broadband plans.
6. Fibre Optic Cable
Fibre optic cable is very popular; it is widely referred to as cable broadband plans. It uses light waves sent through small glass tubes to carry information from one point to another. It presently symbolizes the ultimate in high-speed Internet access. Devices situated at every end of the cable convert the digital signal into light and then back to digital.
These are the various types of broadband. Each of these types are being offered by different service providers with different broadband plans to be able to suit your requirement.
